The colourful decor combines an eclectic mix of original art and collectibles from around the world. Unique furnishings include a luxurious bed that has been raised to allow you a panoramic sea view. It is high-end, yet charmingly unpretentious.

So close to town, yet surrounded by nature.
Located in the beautiful Bay of Islands, Little Donkey Bay is about 45 minutes drive and ferry ride from Kerikeri Airport. It’s around three and a half hours drive from Auckland and a 20 minute passenger ferry ride from Paihia, or a 10 minute car ferry from Opua. There is also a helipad on site for those who want to fly in.
The property is just 5 minutes from the centre of Russell township, but with a gated entrance, mature native plantings and a 180-degree panoramic sea views, you could be miles from anywhere. The tranquil setting, beautiful birdsong and whisper of the ocean combine to create a relaxed feeling of total escape.
For those who are feeling social, or want to take advantage of the gourmet eateries and local vineyards, there is plenty on offer.
Russell offers something for everyone. Enjoy Bay of Islands, Hole in the Rock or Cape Reinga from the air with a wonderful scenic plane or helicopter flight. Or take one of the fabulous cruises to see dolphins as they frolic in their natural environment.
You are spoilt for choices of nearby forests, reserves and marine parks and also by close proximity to a number of world renowned golf courses, an absolute must for passionate golfers.
Feeling like an easy day? Russell was the first port and capital of New Zealand and is steeped in history. Visit the local museum, NZ’s first tannery and printery, or soak in the many examples of early colonial architecture.
