Our small team try our best to ensure a comfortable stay at our holiday park. We employ local and endeavour to use local businesses to maintain our property.
The Port Waikato Holiday Park is owned by local hāpu Ngāti Karewa Ngāti Tahinga and we hold strong to our core māori values.

Port Waikato is a small coastal town south of Auckland. The town is surrounded by lush green hill scape, a black sandy shore and the longest river in New Zealand - The Waikato River, making it a hotspot for fishing trips and summer vacations, it's close enough to two major cities for those who want a quick get-away and a perfect destination for travellers and holiday-makers.
They don't call it Sunset Beach for nothing! With one of the best sunset views in the country, be sure to bring your camera to capture beautiful memories. With very little light pollution in this small rural town gaze up at the amazing milky way at night as you listen to the sounds of the sea.
Where the Waikato River meets the Tasman sea, all ages are sure to enjoy exploring Port Waikato!

Our coastal area is a great place to explore, take a stroll along our black sand shores, a dip in the ocean, and explore the tracks through our sand dunes.
Enjoy the playground with your family at Phillips Reserve Park on Cordyline Road or bring a tennis racket to make use of the tennis court there while the kids zip down the flying fox.
Nature lovers might like a stroll through Cobourne Reserve while the kids slide down the double slide or play on the swings looking out across the Waikato River. You might like to take a dip near the wharf to cool off and enjoy a slushy from the wharf dairy.
If you are looking for a breath-taking view, take a hike up the Sunset beach hill to look out over the ocean and the Port Waikato Spit. Maraetai Bay Esplanade Reserve is a great place for family games and gatherings, there are 2 electric barbeques for public use right near the water and a playground for the children to play all day!
