Waitangi is where the founding document of New Zealand, The Treaty of Waitangi was signed in 1840. Waitangi has been a place of political controversy during Waitangi Day celebrations, but it is most definitely worth visiting. Waitangi offer visitors great facilities, with park-like settings, a great golf course, and a resort all on the Waitangi Treaty Grounds site.
