We have a self-contained 42sqm guest wing as part of our modern, recently constructed gabled design home.
Set on 4 acres of establishing, newly created garden, with great night sky viewing.
Location is 15 mins drive north of Ohakune town.
Our guest wing has its' own private entry and garden area with vehicle parking at the door. Living area is fully furnished with bespoke furniture, and a 46 inch TV. Queen bed has electric blanket and quality linen. Room is heated with Wi Fi included. En-suite has a tiled walk in shower, Complementary continental breakfast with toasted muesli, yoghurt, spreads and snacks, also tea, coffee and hot chocolate are provided.
A lock box is available for self check in. We offer complete privacy if this is what you wish! But as we live in the main house that is separated by a vestibule, we are always available for assistance that may be required.
A pleasant garden area is available with seating for our guests use. We also invite you to enjoy as you wish the rest of our on-going creation of a garden and pond area. Mt Ruapehu views are seen from the majority of the grounds
The Central North Island area is a wonderful part of New Zealand. The Tongariro Alpine Crossing is about 40 mins drive north of our location.
Both Turoa and Whakapapa ski fields are about 35 mins drive (depending on time of day) from our door. Turoa has the High Noon Express lift, Whakapapa with their new Sky Waka gondola, making Ruapehu one of NZ's premiere ski destinations.
There are several shuttle bus operators based in Ohakune, for ski or walking track transport.
Ohakune town has all the usual amenities, such as restaurants, bars, casual eateries, supermarket, bank, gas station, public library and so on. Also, there are a number of ski rental outlets.
We have the Old Coach Road cycle track on our boundary that connects to Ohakune town. This is also a good walking pathway for those in need of an extended walk through an amazing forest area.
A number of other walking tracks are easy to find in the Tongariro National Park. Almost all being within an hour's drive. As are the Kaimanawa mountains.
Many other activities are available to pursue in the broader region. kayaking, scenic sightseeing flights and trout fishing along with horse trekking are also fun things to do.
