#TravellerReviewAwards for the last 4 years. Our family holiday home is a roomy 3 bedroom family friendly house located in Motuoapa. It is set up with modern conveniences so you can just relax. The cleaning fee we charge ensures your stay is stress free as the house will be beautifully presented for your stay, and you don't need to worry about cleaning before you leave. The linen fee covers the nice quality linen, duvets and pillows we supply.The fully equipped kitchen, along with pantry staples, is ideal for longer stays, you just need to bring your own food. There is a large covered deck off the roomy, sunny lounge, creating a great indoor-outdoor living space. It drops down to a second deck area, from which the kids playhouse and slide are attached - easy to watch them play while you are relaxing. There are plenty of board games, books, magazines, kids toys, books to enjoy if needed. If you use the curtains on the upper deck, we appreciate it if you ensure these are left up when not in use, to avoid any stretching/damage. The large internal access garage ( carpeted) has the laundry, with a 10kg washing machine ( powder or liquid supplied) and includes a clothes drying rack, an internal clothesline, as well as an outdoor clothesline behind the boatshed. There is also a iron and board if needed.The garage is also a great area for the kids to play in especially on those super hot days, or when the weather is wet. There is also plenty of space to store your ski and fishing gear. The yellow folder in the lounge has further information including recycling centre location, and local attractions. Emergency contact details are on the fridge.

We set up our family holiday home ( nicknamed "The Halfway House" ) as it is central to all our extended family located in the North Island. We supply tea, coffee etc plus condiments and basic pantry supplies for your use. We welcome you and hope you enjoy the area which caters for multi sports as well as skiing, (snow & water), fishing, hiking ( including the well known Tongariro Crossing), and hot pools at Tokaanu to soak in after a busy day. There is a great cafe "Licorice" just a few minutes down the road ( lovely homemade food), and more good cafes just 10 minutes away in Turangi. Literally around the corner there is a petanque court, tennis court and half basketball. We have the racquets etc . We also have 2 sets of Disc Golf , plus 2 kids size discs, and the court is just up the road.

It is a mixture of permanent residents and holiday homes. It is a friendly, peaceful neighbourhood with lots of walks, play grounds and a tennis court, close by. A short drive away you will find NZ national trout hatchery (south of Turangi) ; natural hot pools ( public and private) at Tokaanu ; golf course ( Turangi) ; plus lots of walks, biking or hiking tracks, and multiple trout fishing rivers.The world renown Tongariro Crossing is in the area as well as Mt Ruapehu, Mt Ngaruahoe & Mt Tongariro, ski fields , gondola , white water rafting. We are an easy 2 hour drive through stunning countryside to Hobbiton, Rotorua, Redwoods Forest, Te Puia, Waitomo Caves, which makes our place the perfect base to explore our fantastic country.
