We are a retired couple that fell in love with Bocas del Toro. We built Casa Botanica as a place to enjoy with friends and family and a rare opportunity to submerse our grandkids with up close and personal interactions with the local wildlife.

10 minutes to the most consistent surf breaks on the island and a very charming beach bar/restaurant/lounge, La Coralina Beach Club, where you can watch the surfers while enjoying some great food and tasty beverages. There's also an excellent brick-oven-style take-away pizza restaurant just down the street, and the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute is a 5 minute walk away. Super Gourmet is an excellent market for gringo-style food (vegan, gluten free, grass fed and organic). They also have a nice deli with daily salads by the pound, sandwiches and take-home gourmet meals. They will deliver to the villa. Super Market Isla Colon is a larger grocery with more typical staples and liquor. Try Tuti and Fish or Legumbreia Jose for a locals shopping experience. Sabrosa Meats is a newer addition to town, it's a great and much needed addition to the community!
