“Castelo de São Jorge” are the ruins of a castle in the Saint Jorge’s hill in Lisbon. It used to be known as “Castelo dos Mouros”, and it stands in a dominant position in the highest hill of the historic center, offering the visitors one of the most beautiful views of the city and the Tagus River’s estuary. It was a royal castle until the XVI century and it is kept in excellent condition because of the efforts of the Portuguese Government.
