We offer two independent accommodations: 🌿 **The Apartamento** – A cozy, self-contained unit with private entrance and terrace, ideal for couples, solo travellers, or small families. 🏡 **The Farm House** – A spacious two-floor home full of rustic charm and modern simplicity, perfect for families or small groups. Guests share a natural swimming pool, cleaned only by aquatic plants — chemical-free and refreshing. We also host creative workshops, artist residencies, and experiences in sustainable living like permaculture, natural building, and slow food. For families, 'breakfastunderatree' features outdoor play equipment: swings, trampoline, basketball hoop, slide, and secret hiding spots. As parents of three young children (ages 10, 6, and 4), we’re happy to share toys, books, and games too. We’re just a 5-minute drive from stunning river beaches like Praia Fluvial de Vila Nova da Serra, perfect for swimming and picnics. The nearby village of Serra (5 minutes by car or a 20-minute walk) has two restaurants, a bakery, small supermarket, butcher, post office, pharmacy, and ATM. We’re also happy to connect guests with local organic farmers for fresh seasonal produce. A 20-minute drive brings you to Tomar, a beautiful historic city with Templar history, riverside cafés, and the Convent of Christ. We’ve also mapped out peaceful walking trails through forests and hills around the farm. Whether you're here to rest, create, or explore — we look forward to welcoming you! We love meeting people from around the world and making them feel at home in this special corner of the world. We’re a family with three children (ages 10, 6, and 4), and this farm is our everyday life — full of play, projects, animals, garden rhythms, and quiet moments under the trees. It’s a place where things slow down and space opens up for just being. I’ve always had a deep love for the arts — as someone who finds joy and inspiration in creativity. I find endless inspiration in the changing light, wild textures, and quiet moments around the land. You’ll see those touches reflected around the property, from handmade details to the natural beauty that surrounds us. We also host artist residencies and creative workshops, offering space for others to explore their own ideas and expressions. I also love cooking and often use fresh, seasonal produce from our garden or local organic farmers. The region around the farm is filled with beautiful rolling countryside, rivers, wineries and rural delights. The property is located less than 20 minutes from the town of Tomar which has a main train station and all amenities. The drive is just 1.5 hours from Lisbon and 2 hours from Porto; the property is also easily reached by train to Tomar plus a quick taxi ride. The town is very well-serviced by taxis, making it very easy to travel. The region is lush with rolling hills, dotted with olive, citrus and cork groves, all surrounded by a beautiful river. Tomar is a very picturesque medieval town, home to the Knights of Templar and an 1100-year-old castle and convent on top of the mountain overlooking the town. There is also a beautiful old historic center, a big Friday farmers’ market, great regional restaurants and bars, and many cute little streets to explore. Our local area of Serra is full of wineries, olive groves, farms, and quaint little towns humming with summer music festivals. Serra has three cafes/bars, a restaurant and a small grocery store.
