-Visit the Coruche Museum.
-Visit the Church of Misericórdia and its treasures, such as the 19th century pipe organ.
-Since Coruche is the cork capital of the world, it's worth going to see the Cork Oak and Cork Observatory. It is possible to visit the observatory from Monday to Friday, at 09h00 - 13h00 and 14h00 - 17h30, and during the weekend by appointment.
-In summer, it's common for temperatures to rise to very high levels, so taking a swim in the River Sorraia may well be the ideal way to refresh body and mind after a day exploring the region. It's called Sorraia River Beach and it's on the right bank of the river, next to Sorraia Park, in Coruche.
-Or, without leaving Erra, take the “Caminho do vale ao Montado” trail. 9.7 km long and starting in the village of Vila Nova da Erra, this is a hiking trail that runs between the Sorraia river valley and the vast cork oak forests of the municipality of Coruche. It is therefore an excellent excuse to walk through the characteristic landscapes of the cork oak forest in the Coruche region, including the so-called mixed cork oak forest - made up of cork oaks and stone pines.
The typical dishes reflect the work done in the fields, where farming was compensated with a rich and careful cuisine and where regional products were of the upmost importance. Events such as the "Jornadas de Gastronomia" (in October) and "Sabores do Toiro Bravo" (in May) mark the calendar each year, bringing the delicacies of the regional cuisine to the table, combining tradition and innovation.
