Casa dos Castanheiros is a charming guest house, completely renovated and fully equipped, located 10 minutes from the center of Angra do Heroismo and 5 minutes from the sea, in the parish of Terra-Cha. Created in 2024 by a young French couple looking for escape, nature and conviviality.
The house and its private garden offer a real escape between land and sea.
It has three bedrooms equipped with high-end bedding, convertible into double beds (180x200) or two separate beds, baby bed, double glazing, ventilation, heating and storage.
The spacious shower room has everything you need for washing (towels, shower gel, shampoo, hair dryer).
The kitchen is open to the living room and has a laundry room with washing machine and ironing board. Regional delicacies await you, as well as board games, cards, chess boards, books and SMART TV. Yoga mats and diving masks are also available to enjoy the island's activities.
Breakfast is offered at an additional cost on the terrace or in the garden depending on the weather. It is also possible to organize meals or barbecues on request.
After numerous trips from Asia to the Americas via Australia, looking for adventure, encounters and a peaceful home, we simply fell in love with the Azores and more particularly the people of Terceira.
So we packed our bags in Terra-cha in a large house that we have completely restored.
It is with great emotion that we open the doors to offer you a memorable experience.
Passionate about cooking, nature, diving and art, we will be happy to share our discoveries, our good addresses and our partners (diving, boat tours, fishing, whale and dolphin trips, hiking, visits and electric bike rental) .
We strive to make Casa dos Castanheiros a home away from home for all our guests.
On the heights of Angra Do Heroismo, the guesthouse is halfway between land and sea. Close to the lively city center, it also enjoys the tranquility of the countryside.
You will find a mini market right in front of the house and a bar.
Terra-Cha is famous for its fertile soil and the trade in oranges vital to the seafarer. All the wealth of this parish comes from its citrus fruits, the abundance of which forms an astonishing and admirable picture.
From the past, Terra Chã has inherited in particular orchards of chestnut trees of the "Viana" variety, of excellent quality; today preserved and valued thanks to the chestnut festival at the end of October. The Guesthouse takes its name from the 9 chestnut trees (Castanheiros) that populate its garden among the many citrus fruits and edible flowers.
As you glance out the bedroom window, don't be surprised by the village orchestra which parades harmoniously or by the summer Torada and many other surprises in the street.
