Carefully restored and furnished to be rented as a self catering accommodation, Casa Via d'Água is an old traditional stone house located in the heart of Fajã Grande, one of the loveliest settings of all the Azores and simply the best place to stay in Flores. The house sits in its own garden surrounded by neighboring fields with wonderful views of the dramatic cliffs. You can see the orange glows of sunset, tumbling waterfalls, mist over the cliffs, wild waves and blistering sunshine all in one day from the grounds of the house. Casa Via d'Água is a rural home, lovingly restored so that it keeps its original features and therefore is suited to those who are within to immerse and stay in coexistence with nature. Each of the 2 bedrooms has a double bed and futon and an ensuite bathroom with bathtub/shower. Rooms have private entrances and double door exits to the garden. The living room has 2 sofas, TV, WiFi and bluetooth speaker system as well as some books and games. The kitchen is well equipped with modern kitchenware, stove, fridge, microwave set around a meticulously restore traditional wood-fired oven. A small courtyard off of the kitchen provides the perfect place to sit and enjoy a glass of local wine, while the garden features a wrap around patio with a table for outdoor dining while taking in the breathtaking sunset-lit cliffside. The stone-wall enclosed garden space is perfect for children to run around, and is complete with a fire pit and some very charming locals cats that love to visit. Please be advised that Casa Via d'Água is a private home that is set back from the road. It is accessed via a private stone pathway that is around 30 meters/100 feet long and includes a few steps at the beginning--please note that guests will need to carry their luggage this way to the house as there is no other access. While this may not be ideal for some guests it does lend itself to the especially private and quiet feel of Casa Via d'Agua.

This is a rural farming area and so guests should be comfortable with seeing and hearing insects and livestock living amongst the village houses.
