My name is Luis and because I love to travel I start using booking in my trips. Some years ago I felt in love for this old building that was in need of a complete restauration and because of its great location it came to my mind that I could do the same thing in Lisbon that I have seen in many other places; rehabilitate an old building and rent the apartments for short stays in order to finance the renovation. Madragoa is a typical quarter from Santos that resembles Bairro Alto in many ways (labyrinthine streets, charming old buildings, many traditional restaurants and cafés) but is far less touristy. From here you can easily walk anywhere you like in central Lisbon - Baixa, Bica, Chiado, Cais do Sodre, Bairro Alto - and the walk will be pleasant and beautiful. The area is great: small roads in a hill near the river and town centre with lots of things to do and see. This typical neighborhood was once occupied by fisherman and fish vendors. It is starting to be occupied by artists and young people but you can still fell the popular spirit around. At a walking distance you have bars restaurants, supermarket and several museums, Come along and enjoy Lisbon like a local.
