Five minutes from the city center, just above Guimarães Castle, it has been rising since the 10th century, Margaride Manor House. This property was part of Countess Mumadona Dias domain and is referred to in medieval documentation as "Villa Margaridi" in a letter dating from the year 1021. The Margaride Manor House, in the succession of centuries, came into the possession of the Counts of Margaride. Margaride Estate and its garden are classified by the Portuguese State as a Heritage of Public Interest and consists of a main house, where the owner lives with his family, and a set of other supporting residences. , today transformed to welcome tourists and make up the “Villa Margaridi.” The stay at Villa Margaridi brings together the pleasure of being in the countryside while being practically in the center of the city.
