Welcome to Romana Residence, two comfortable apartments housed in a 1926 heritage building designed by celebrated interwar architect Constantin Ciogolea, known for his refined architectural style that helped shape Bucharest’s early 20th-century charm. The building’s façade was beautifully restored in 2021, while its interior retains original features such as the mosaic staircase and wrought-iron handrails, a graceful blend of history and timeless elegance. Each apartment has its own character. One overlooks Dacia Boulevard and enjoys plenty of natural light throughout the day, while the other faces a quiet inner courtyard, offering a more private and peaceful atmosphere. The interiors are simple, clean, and well-maintained, providing a practical and comfortable setting for short or longer stays. Both units include Wi-Fi, air conditioning, smart TV, coffee and tea facilities, a mini-fridge, and a bathroom with shower, toiletries, and hair dryer. One apartment also features a compact kitchenette equipped with a microwave, toaster, and kettle for light meal preparation. Though our careers have taken us in different directions, Dana in communications and Alexandra in finance, we share a passion for design, hospitality, and the beauty of old Bucharest. Over years of traveling, we’ve stayed in countless short-term rentals around the world. Each stay inspired us to imagine how we might do things differently, more thoughtfully, more warmly, and with a touch of local soul. Romana Residence grew from that idea: to create a space where guests could experience the comfort of a boutique stay while feeling connected to the city’s heritage.
