It is perfect for a getaway from a city hustle and bustle, or to reach Soriška planina and Bohinj on one side, or Soča valley on the other side. We are in the middle! The place offers everything you need: a fully equiped kitchen, board games, comfy couch in the living room, spacious terrace with sun loungers and all the amenities that a person would possibly need. The house is located in a remote village Stržišče, which gives a special charm to your experience. With car you still have only 1h to Bohinj lake on one side and 1h to Soča valley on the other. Or you can try the motorail experience which makes the traveling exciting and quicker.

The house I’m renting used to belong to my mother, and until 1980, it was our family home. Later, we completely renovated it and used it as a holiday house. In 1980, I moved to Tolmin, where my husband and I built our home. We have four children and nine grandchildren, so even in retirement, we stay quite busy. Together with our children, we cultivate a small field and make sure our extended family is provided with homegrown vegetables throughout the year.

The nearest larger shopping center is in Tolmin, about a 45-minute drive away. In Tolmin, you can visit the famous Tolmin Gorges, take a walk to the confluence of the Soča and Tolminka rivers, or take public transport to Javorca, where you’ll find the beautiful wooden church — considered the most remarkable monument of the First World War. What to see nearby: Baška grapa is a magical valley embraced by the Julian Alps, where wild nature meets rich cultural heritage. Stretching along the Bača River between Tolmin and Bohinj, it offers unforgettable experiences for lovers of peace, hiking, and genuine contact with nature. Visit picturesque villages, discover old railway viaducts, enjoy hiking trails that lead to breathtaking viewpoints, or set out on adrenaline-filled cycling descents.
