Our accommodation is in a quiet place, up and above the other houses of the Kobarid, built below former Roman terraces on the oldest street in the town (Pot na gradič = Road to the castle).
We offer one self-contained apartment, and one small house, converted from a former barn, and with a beautiful view of the valley.
The property is over 300 years old and has just been completely renovated to the latest standards, in order to be as environmentally friendly as possible. The high quality furnishings provide an extra touch of luxury to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
Each apartment has its own entrance, broadband internet, a smart TV and a terrace outside.
The apartments are perfect for couples coming to the Soça valley for hiking, cycling, and enjoying the local culture. Shops and several restaurants are only a few minutes’ walk away, including the renowned Hisa Polonka, which serves local dishes, regional wines and their own local craft beer. For food and wine connoisseurs, the 3* Michelin restaurant, Hisa Franko, is only a short drive away.
Kobarid is located at the intersection of roads leading north to the beautiful Julian Alps, south to the Adriatic coast, and west to Italy. A perfect base for those looking for nature, sport, or just wanting to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. For wine buffs, visiting the vineyards of Fruili and Goriška Brda is highly recommended.
The UNESCO-acclaimed Kobarid WWI museum is at the end of the street and is well worth a visit. The valley was severely impacted by the many battles on the Izonzo (Soça) front, which left deep scars on both the population and the landscape that are still present today, even on the highest mountains. Kobarid (formerly Karfreit (DE), and Caporetto (IT)) was at the centre of the final battle of the front.
The property is operated by Benuga Tourism, who can also offer you tourist information, transport and other assistance.
