I designed this pool villa with 5 star resorts in mind. What is unique about their architecture, amenities, and guest privacy? I then tried to improve on these offerings, using a master carpenter and recycled teak wood for the finishes. There is a lot of marble and German fittings as well. The house itself was designed by Peter Muennig, the son of a world-renowned architect who was clearly influenced by his father's work (though he ended up being a professor at Columbia University.)
I attended Mae Fa Luang University, where I studied Business Chinese. There, classes were taught in English, Chinese, and Thai, so I can get by in any of these three languages. I love to travel, and have seen some nice hotels along the way. But there was always something that could be done differently or better. This inspired me to try to build a single unit on my property with all the trimmings. I'm just starting out, but eager to iron out any problems you might encounter.
This neighborhood is an upcoming art district. It has workshops, galleries, cafes, and some of Chiang Mai's best restaurants. The food around here includes top-rated international cuisine and local street side Thai restaurants. This diversity means that you can have it all within a short walking distance of the pool villa. It also has three shopping areas right next to one another that are must-see places in Chiang Mai. These include Baan Kang Wat (across the street), which has a number of top-tier cafes, restaurants, galleries and art workshops. During the night, people often migrate down the street to Freeative Art Space, which has bars and music venues (out of earshot). There is also Landin, which hosts a number of small boutique stores. The two best pizza restaurants in the city (Adriak Pizza and Amitaro's Sourdough) are a few blocks away. There is a wide selection of vegan and organic options. Some of my favorites are Pure Vegan Heaven, Mini Juice Bar, and Aeeen Japanese Vegan (where the proprietors make everything by hand, down to the soy sauce). We are also right next to Wat Ram Poeng, one of the most serene and beautiful temples in the city. The 31st Century Museum, Dhepsiri Art Space, and others also offer meditation spaces. Master ceramist Jearn is down the street (across from the bookstore) and offers 3-day classes under his guidance. To me, the real magic about his place though is that it not only has many of the best places in the city, but it is literally at the edge of Suthep National Forest. There is great hiking, trail running, and biking (road and gravel) starting from here. We will give you advice on how to set off if that is your thing.
