Our beautifully-designed villas and large swimming pool are set in a garden around a lake, just 500 metres from Bangsak Beach. Raintree Bangsak is ideal for those who are looking for an alternative to the bustling environment of a hotel. We serve mature travellers, couples and young families who prefer greater privacy and independence in a home-like environment. Our resort provides somewhere to relax, somewhere to get away from the crowds. We offer spaciousness – only three villas on a two-acre site.
The villas were designed by renowned New Zealand architect, Adrian Koch. Each villa features separate living room and bedroom with a kitchenette and dining area. An unusual feature is the spiral staircase leading to a multi-purpose mezzanine deck above the lounge.
Our accommodation is self-catering and we also offer a range of breakfasts in our bar.
Croquet players are welcome! Our Raintree Croquet Club, adjoining the resort, hosts an annual tournament, and the croquet lawn (full-size) and equipment are available for hire by Raintree guests during the dry season.
My name is Tui. I look forward to welcoming you to our lovely Raintree Bangsak. Home comforts and flexibility are the key – we invite you to tell us what you would like, and we will try our best to provide it. If you would like us to prepare an evening meal, we would be happy to oblige. We are also ready to assist with your local travel, sightseeing, motorcycle hire and other needs. Loong Joe and I moved from Bangkok to Khao Lak in 2002 having fallen in love with the place - friendly people, beautiful surroundings and plenty to do. I moved my arts and crafts shop down here, and then, a few years later, we decided to create Raintree Bangsak.
We are both music fans and my husband, now retired from engineering, plays for enjoyment at a local live music venue. We also like to travel when it's quiet here, and have recently visited Bhutan, Cambodia, Vietnam and Turkey.
We aim to create a home-like atmosphere here at Raintree Bangsak and we hope you have a great time with us.
Bangsak is a small village located 17km north of Khao Lak, 15km south of Takua Pa town, and about 95km from Phuket Airport. Its beach has escaped the onslaught of development further south, and it features a small number of restaurants offering seafood, Thai cuisine and western dishes. The northern section of the beach is traffic-free. If you walk along the sand, you will find small, friendly restaurants just above the high water mark.
There are two large resorts, Sentido Graceland and Bangsak Merlin nearby. Just behind Graceland, and only 100 metres from our resort, you will find facilities such as a laundry, massage, a restaurant, a small convenience store and a taxi stand. Our nearest town is Bangmuang, 5km to the north. The Bangmuang fresh and cooked food market is open daily from 3pm until about 7pm. Attractions in the Bangmuang area include a shooting range and elephant trekking. The road to the tsunami memorial site at Nam Kem fishing village runs west from Bangmuang.
At night, the Bangsak area is quiet – free of raucous discos or beer bars. But late-night revellers can take a taxi into Khao Lak where it's all happening!
