I'm a recently retired resident of Swampscott, MA and am originally from Ukraine. I have two sons - one who lives in California and the other nearby in Marblehead. I recently became a proud grandfather! I love to go to the beach, to travel, and to ski. When I was younger, I trained as a physicist, but re-trained as a biostatistician mid-career.

Salem is one of the most beautiful, historic neighborhoods in Massachusetts. It's near over 10 scenic and peaceful beaches, contains plenty of colonial history captured both in museum and architecture form, and has a vibrant restaurant and bar scene. The immediately surrounding area is up-and-coming: It is a high-energy, and diverse, vibrant, mostly Hispanic working class neighborhood. We assume that some families may shy away from a local feeling, working class neighborhood, whereas others are even more excited by the local experience. On summer weekends, the immediately surrounding area can be lively and festive. This energy will be fun for most visitors, but others may find the area to be on the loud side. If you are a delicate sleeper that does not like a lot of sound and noise this location may not be good for you. You'll get an authentic flavor of the area and be in proximity of the visitor-favorite Salem Waterfront, lots of restaurants and beaches. Salem's Historical District is a five-ten minute walk from the property.
