Company information

Florence has been innkeeping since 1994. She loves music, teaching, cooking, and gardening. In a world long ago and far away, she studied geology and worked in a science lab analyzing meteorites while looking for signs of life in outer space. While raising children, she trained as a music docent and taught elementary music in the California public schools. She currently sings in an women's chorus and accompanies a choir. Debbie started as the Event Coordinator in 2011. She has a passion for teaching and healing arts. Debbie is a real native of Gettysburg. Her family arrived in the Gettysburg/Hanover area in 1752 from Hanover, Germany. She is a direct decendant of the Wolff/Wolfe family that owned the farm that was the site of Camp Letterman, the tent evacuation hospital created for the wounded after the Battle of Gettysburg. Her family traded horses with both the Union and Confederate soldiers as they passed through her family farm.

Battlefield Bed & Breakfast has a 10 room farmhouse B&B, the Historic Barn Venue wedding and event venue, the Solarium event venue, The Tack Room Guest Room inside the Historic Barn, and the Swan Cottage freestanding house. The inn was renovated in 2015. Come see our beautiful Solarium and guest rooms! The inn caters to history travelers, families, travelers with dogs, and wedding and event groups. The Farmhouse is in a 200 year old field stone home that was a witness to the battle of Gettysburg. Cornelius Houghtelin's 1809 Civil War Farmhouse is located on 30 acres of the Gettysburg Battlefield. Cornelius was active in the emancipation movement and the Underground Railroad. The Historic Barn Venue is in a 1820's barn that was used as a Civil War field hospital. The inn welcomes all guests -- couples, singles, families, and friends. Our third building is a 1820's Civil War barn wedding venue that can seat 140 guests. The barn has modern restrooms and a beautiful guest room/dressing room for the bridal party.
