My husband Steve and I were born and raised in Ohio, and have lived in Brooklyn, NY for the past 7 years with our two children. I stay at home with the kiddos, but during school hours you can find me planning our next adventure, or volunteering around the neighborhood. Steve always says I never met a committee I didn’t like! We love doing lots of different things as a family, but traveling, particularly in the outdoors, is what really gets us excited. We have a lifetime goal of visiting all the US National Parks. Nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains, the cabin is a great jumping off point to Hocking Hills State Park (4.1 miles). Explore all the park has to offer from caves to waterfalls and miles of scenic hiking trails. You’ll be a ten minute drive to Cedar Falls or Old Man's Cave for first class hiking, or a short ~40 minute drive to Athens and just 1 hour to Columbus city center. Coming from Route 33, most map apps will take you down Route 93 which is technically the fastest by a few minutes. However, we recommend an alternate route for two reasons: it doesn't have any unmaintained roads, and it will take you past all the main Hocking Hills attractions on your way to the cabin. From 33, take Route 664 south. After about 15 minutes you'll be nearing Old Man's cave. Turn left on Route 374 right before you get to Old Man's Cave and follow that for a few miles until you get to Fairview Ridge Rd, where you turn left. The driveway is on the left at 49700 Fairview Ridge Rd. You'll see the Deerview sign as you pull in.
