My husband and I are native Texans who have three wonderful children ages 4 months, 1 and 3! We love to visit Galveston and enjoy all the activities, sites and adventures the island has to offer. We both enjoy traveling while my husband enjoys wildlife and fishing, and I like crocheting.

Galveston offers much more than beach activities. We have a long and rich history dating back to its 1816 settlement. The East end historical district has some of the most incredible old homes that have been restored dating back to the mid 1800's. Galveston is known for Moody Gardens, where giant glass pyramids house sharks, monkeys and other animals. Amusement rides and restaurants line Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier on the south shore. West is bird-rich Galveston Island State Park, with its trails, kayak launches and fishing spots. Stewart Beach and East Beach are on the island’s eastern end. There are numerous rock jetties along the beach that will challenge anglers with trout, redfish, flounder to name a few. Numerous fishing guides are available for full and half day fishing trips whether in the bays or offshore. Parents and kids alike will love to ride the free ferry boat that leaves every 20 minutes and crosses the channel to Bolivar Peninsula. Just walk on and enjoy the dolphins and bird activity on the 90 min round trip.
