Escape with your family and friends to this quiet, cozy, creek side, four season getaway. Private, yet only 12 minutes to Gore Mountain and North Creek and 5 minutes to Garnet Lake. Enjoy the region’s best hiking with Crane Mountain just outside your door, raft the mighty Hudson River with Wild Waters, mountain bike or rail bike. Relax by the fire after a day of skiing, boarding, snowshoeing, leaf peeping or other outdoor adventure.
Property manager and local host Scott lives nearby, 15 minutes away, and is available throughout your stay. He can stop over to make sure you are finding things and give great local advice on everything to do around the area. He also knows about the forests and lakes , foraging and cooking and what lives here. Scott can answer any questions you may have, help you with anything you need, make arrangements for local activities or advise on restaurants and shopping options. Please feel free to ask!
The house is situated at 1500 feet elevation on 7 private acres on a quiet dead end dirt road. There are few close neighbors. There's is a babbling brook and the sounds and sights of nature are all around you. The back deck faces a small yard and lots of woods to explore. There's a nice firepit and plenty of wood for your evenings enjoyment. The road is gravel and you can take a long walk out past the house. The leaf peeping is excellent! Garnet lake is just 5 minutes away for your hiking and paddling pleasure. There are hundreds of trails in easy reach all around Johnsburg. You will need your own transportation here. the property is located about 15 minutes drive to North Creek where there are food stores, shopping, gas stations, restaurants etc.
