Meander to the apartment in the lower level of my mountain home. As long as you treat my place respectfully, you are welcome here no matter your race, ethnicity, gender, sexual identity or orientation, religion, disability or any other unique traits you may be blessed with.. Dog friendly, complete kitchen. Five miles from Golden Gate Canyon State Park and Black Hawk, Central City and casinos. Twenty minutes to Eldora Ski Area and Nederland, & 1 hr to Loveland Ski. DIA is 75 minutes and Boulder is 40. Walk out to a beautiful patio that is surrounded by a meadow framed in Aspen trees. Pond nearby, where wildlife visit often. Come to hike, bike, ski, fish, relax, hunt, gamble or just to enjoy life. I love hosting others and will interact as much or as little as you like. I offer child and pet sitting, arranged in advance. This is a quiet and beautiful place. GREAT place for birding! You may see wildlife, depending on the season and how much you are on the hook-out. Please NO tobacco smoking on property - inside or out. Marijuana is legal in Colorado and there are dispensaries in pretty much every town (some exceptions). I have no problem with partaking of MJ on my property, but please keep it outside so the odor doesn't offend current and future guests. My focus in life is to live more responsibly and sustainably and I carry that focus to Meandering Moose. All soaps and lotion are cruelty-free and are in refillable containers. Sheets and towels are cotton and/or bamboo. Sheets and towels are air-dried on racks (towels get a brief tumble in the dryer to soften them up). This is a bit more work, but so much less energy is consumed! Recycled TP and paper towels are provided. I use laundry sheets vs pods or liquid detergent. I try to keep chemicals to a minimum. The heat is kept low, please bring plenty of warm clothes year round - seriously! Blankets, portable heaters, and a wood stove are available, if needed.
It has been my dream for over 40 years to live in the Colorado Rockies and I just recently moved into this house to fulfill that dream. I am almost always available to help with whatever you need. While I love to socialize and get to know my guests, I also respect your privacy. You decide if or when you want to meet or socialize. I truly want you to have a 5-star experience, so feel free to reach out if you need anything at all. I welcome all types of humans (no exceptions) who will respect my property. Every group of guests has been my favorite so far! Feel free to reach out with any questions at all. I love to be at your service and educate you about the area.
AWD with snow tires or 4X4 is highly recommended during winter months.
This is a secluded mountain area at 9150 feet (2.8 kilometers) elevation. My home at the end of a private road and we need all to drive slowly and quietly, so as not to disturb the neighbors. Each season brings its own beauty and awe. We feel so lucky to be here! I absolutely love sharing my space and letting others fall in love with this special space on earth.
Arapaho National Forest is just across the road and Golden Gate Canyon State park is 5 miles away. There is a private pond adjacent to the property where you might see wildlife. Eldora Ski Area is 25 minutes away and world class ski resorts are 1-2 hours away.
Turn off of Highway 119 and follow the dirt road to the right. My home is the last house on the road, down the hill to the right, and then left at the bottom on to my lower driveway. You can park pretty much anywhere on the driveway, except in front of the garage. Walk down the path to the left of the house, across the expansive patio and enter using the code provided.
Sorry, but no cancellations due to weather. I strongly suggest travel insurance - especially in the winter.
