After many years of visiting, researching and learning about Bed and Breakfasts from other innkeepers, Steve and Lisa purchased Spencer House in August 2018 as the culmination of their longtime dream to have their own Bed and Breakfast. While Lisa has over 20 years of experience cooking in restaraunts and for a church day care, Steve, whose experience is in management, also is quite the cook as well and together make a great team providing guests with quality service and great food. From their first visit they fell in love with the great detail that exists in every part of the B&B and enjoy sharing this beautiful home with their guests while helping to maintain this elegant piece of history for many years to come. It is our goal to provide a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere so that you can get maximum enjoyment from your time in Erie, Pa.

One step through the beautiful arched front doors and guests quickly realize why The Spencer House is one of Erie's landmark Victorian mansions. Examples of the era surround you from the 12-foot ceilings and sculpted light medallions, to the incredibly detailed, handcrafted hardwood mouldings that grace the entire house. An expansive coffered ceiling in the dining room invites guests to a full home-cooked breakfast featuring such temptations as fresh fruit, eggs, seasoned potatoes, local thick-cut bacon, and our house special cinnamon chip pancakes. Due to the historic nature of our home we do not have handicap accessible rooms. Awards: Our Bed and Breakfast is rated #1 in Erie on TripAdvisor and has received the 2020 and 2021 Tripadvisor Travelers Choice award for being in the top 10 % of lodging worldwide based on our guests reviews.
