We spend most of our time producing truffle butters and other specialty foods. The rest is divided between guitar, fishing, sewing, and cooking. Our kids are almost done growing, but we keep kiddie toys around the house for guests.
This is an unhosted listing, so you have complete freedom. We welcome you to use the house as you would your own! Typical check in is 3 pm, and check out is 11:00 am. However, we can often be flexible on this; depends upon bookings pre- and post- your visit. We tell you how to access the house the week of your arrival.
Fabulous location - 15 minutes from Belleayre and Hunter. Scenic train rides, farmers' markets, u-picks, weekend tag sales, tons of hiking trails, tubing, fly fishing. Witness your NYC drinking water at its source by walking or boating the Pepacton and Ashokan Reservoirs. Big outdoor flea market in Arkville. Woodstock and Rhinebeck for shopping, Tannersville for antiques, Hunter and Belleayre ski mountain for concerts and gatherings. A few foodie recommendations from committed foodies: Peekamoose has crazy-quilt grouping of cocktail, white tablecloth, tavern, and deck spaces. In Phoenicia, hit Brio's to ground yourselves in small town feel, Bklyn-born Phoenicia Diner for local foods). Bread Alone for baguette and soups/sandwiches.
Adirondack Trailways lands you in Phoenicia, 2 miles from the house. Amtrak will get you to Rhinecliff, about 40 minutes away but just 10 minutes off the Kingston exit of the Thruway.
