A beautiful old farm in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The 1880 farmhouse sits on a small stream that runs through the entire fifty-five acre property. The house is clean, minimally decorated, with pasture views out of every window. The farm is located 80 miles from Washington DC and just down the road from Sperryville, Old Rag Mountain, Skyline Drive and other local attractions. Walnut Run Farm is a one-man operation. I am doing my best to hold on to this truly unique and beautiful property. There are financial pressures to sell and-or subdivide but what makes the farm special is that it is intact and retains its sanctuary-like privacy. The farm is less than three miles from Sperryville, Virginia which has two breweries, a distillery and several restaurants. The farm is very close to Thornton Gap, an entrance to Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive. From the farm there is quick access to many of the noted hiking trails in the park, most notably Old Rag Mountain and White Oak Canyon. Continuing on past the entrance to Shenandoah National Park is the city of Luray, known for Luray Caverns, a national landmark. A bit further on is the Shenandoah River where there are river outfitters for rafting and canoeing.
