Sweeping views of mountains, oceans, the lake & the twinkling lights of Knysna town. Relax in the sun at the Jacuzzi hot tub, rimflow pool, or the many lounge areas (indoor and out). Bordering spectacular beaches and all that the town of Knysna and the Garden Route region has to offer. Guests are able to enjoy easy access to endless sandy beaches, ancient forests, mountains, lakes & rivers, restaurants, shopping and activities all on the doorstep. Neighbouring the endangered Brenton Blu Butterfly Reserve, home to abundant bird-life, shy antelope, a rich variety of local fauna and Fynbos forming part of the most botanically diverse floral kingdom in the world & protected as part of UNESCO’s world heritage. Fresh, simple food is the focus. Breakfast is leisurely and guests can choose to stay in and share a relaxed evening 'meal of the day' with a bottle of wine & beautiful sunset.

A description of a perfect day at Alkira: Wake up with the sun flooding through the skylights & the song of the early bird. Nurture a coffee before heading out for an early morning walk with (or without) the dogs along the pristine white sandy beaches below Alkira. Time & tide permitting to walk between Brenton & Buffalo Bay. On a lucky day watch dolphins play or find a nautilus shell washed up on the beach. Take a refreshing plunge in the ocean before heading back for a relaxed breakfast on the terrace (and a glass of bubbly?). Choose an activity; Golf? An adventure; Ecotour and whale-watching? An exclusive yacht; with snacks? Winetasting at a farm nearby? Or drift along the river on a kayak in silence watching out for local bird and wildlife as you paddle to the forest waterfalls followed by a hike through the indigenous forest and a picnic or lunch in any one of the lovely local cafe's. Home for a dip in the pool to cool off, read a book and work on your tan or relax in the jacuzzi. Supper (simple and fresh and whatever is the days offering) and a glass of chilled wine on the terrace as the African sun sets over the ocean, - the final word on perfection.
