At the River Guesthouse is newly built luxury rooms on the banks of the Valsriver. The river is about 25 metres from the rooms. Every room has a river view. We are situated on a 5 hectare piece of land thus we have animals like sheep and dogs on the property. You can also view the pecan nut orchard. Braai facilities are available on the wooden deck next to the river. You can also book a sunset cruise on the raft and enjoy the beauty of nature from the river. Here you will find peace and tranquility only a kilometre from town. Please note that you will have to travel via a gravel road of about 1.5km to the property. Fishing is also allowed.

Since all the children left the nest, we love to welcome friends, family and guests to our guesthouse. We like to share our free state hospitality with them and let the guests experience the serenity of nature and be part of our piece of paradise.

Kroonstad hosts several sandstone buildings, the Boer Concentration Camp Cemetry, Sarel Cilliers monument, Kroonstad Country Club, Bloemhoek dam. Kroonstad is the centre of a rich agriculture district producing maize, potatoes, dairy, meat and game. Kroonstad Country Club is one of the oldest clubs in South Africa, established in 1889.
