ABOUT THE PROPERTY 8 Ocean Drive, a self-catering unit, only 24 km from King Shaka International Airport, is located on the famous Ocean Drive in the coastal town of Dolphin Coast also known as Ballito, and is only 100 meters from the popular Salt Rock beach. The unit is a comfortable one-bedroom unit with sleeping space for 4 people and is ideal for a family that wants to break away from the hectic city life. It has a secure parking area with an alarm system, air conditioning, a dining area, and a well-equipped kitchen with a fridge and freezer unit, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, air fryer, and dishwasher. Furthermore, the unit also features DStv channels, Netflix access, FREE, unlimited fiber optic internet, and board games. There is also access to a private courtyard with an outdoor shower and braai (BBQ) facilities. 8 Ocean Drive is the new name for the popular Belle Le Vie Guest House after the new owners decided to change the name.

ABOUT THE HOST If there is one thing that makes our family happy it is the warm African sun, the sound of the waves breaking on the shoreline, and catching fish. A dream came true when we decided to swap the busy city life for a place at the coast. Although our family holiday home was on the Garden Route we settled for the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. When we bought the property, which took us only 100 m from the sea, we decided to continue with the holiday letting of the self-catering chalet. It was time to make it our own hence the name change from Belle Le Vie to 8 Ocean Drive. As from 23 February 2023 we look forward to welcome our guests to our little beach heaven in the majestic Dolphin Coast.

ABOUT THE NEIGHBORHOOD Salt Rock main swimming beach and tidal pool is nearly a stone through away. There are lifeguards on duty, patrolled shark nets, safe tidal pools and exciting waves for a great swim/surf/boogie-board/paddle-ski etc. The beaches are clean for a lovely walk or run or a chance to discover tiny creatures in the rock pools. Chat to local fisherman about the tides, dolphin/whale sightings, best spots for the catch of the day and the various fish available to catch along the coastline. Deep Sea fishing excursions are available. Areas of the rocky coastline are ideal for oyster, mussels and crayfish (in season and under fishing license only). Spear-fishing and Scuba diving available. There is no shortage of entertainment and attractions in Ballito. Restaurants, places to visit and shopping centers are plentiful. Activities in the surrounding area include fishing, diving, surfing, and golf. A supermarket and restaurants are within walking distance and the nearest shopping center is only 5 km away. Salt Rock offers restaurants, farmers 's markets, coffee shops, specialty stores, beauty spa’s and kids entertainment. Just a short drive away are Tiffany's, Salt Rock Shopping Center, Ballito Junction and Lifestyle Shopping Centers. We have Animal Flagfarm, Burnedale, Sage and Sugar Rush Adventure Complex. Not to mention litchi picking when in season. Golf courses are nearby at Simbithi, Zimbali, Umhlali and Prince's Grant Golf Clubs. Plan a day excursion to Hluhluwe (2 hours away) which offers opportunities to see the Big 5 or shopping at some of South Africa's best shops in Umhlangha (20 minutes away).
