「This is a lovely spot to visit. We were only overnighting but it would be restful to have another day there.
Delicious home made food. We had a whole farmhouse to ourselves.」

「The road in can be challenging, but it is worth it. Superb location on the farm, beautiful and peaceful place. Staff most welcoming, they went out of their way to take care of us and arrange things. I would highly recommend Fairbairn for a stop...」

「Very clean facilities and peaceful surroundings.」
My name is Ebenezer Fourie and I manage Fairbairn Guest Farm. I started working here beginning 2015 as I needed a break from city life for a while - I did weddings and conferences before this and also completed a BA in Languages and Cultures a few years back.
I enjoy listening to and making music - especially vocal - and have a keen sense for art and all things creative. I LOVE the outdoors live for adventure so am truly privileged to be surrounded by such stunning scenery. I also appreciate the silence and serenity here so yes this is the perfect place unwind and free the spirit!

Fairbairn Guest Farm is a very special place and also has loads of historical value. The farm was first inhabited by British Settlers - the Forresters - in the 1870's and they stayed on for roughly 30-40 years. During the late 1800's there were a number of squabbles between the English (together with the Afrikaners) and the local African tribes and a few of them were fought on Fairbairn Kop (on the farm) and neighbouring territories. The San (Bushmen) were the earliest inhabitants of this area and their presence can be noted in the prolific rock art in the mountains surrounding Fairbairn Guest Farm - a few traces remain in a few caves on Fairbairn Kop.
What singles Fairbairn Guest Farm out from other properties in the Maclear area is the sense of remoteness and utter silence and tranquility one experiences here. It really is a unique experience and our guests always leave well-rested and invigorated for the next stretch of their journey.
Why not come see and feel for yourself!
