"Born and bred" in Cape Town, we relocated in 2020 from the northern suburbs of Cape Town to Sedgefield.
After many years in a corporate environment and our lives redefined unexpectedly, we came to realize life is so much more than traffic jams, shopping centre's and deadlines.
We are blessed to enjoy life, in the heart of nature, and able to experience tortoises in our garden, african harrier hawk perching on our fence, and on occasions, a vervet monkey sitting in our tree. The estuary/lagoon is host to the pied kingfisher, Goliath heron, and spoonbill's, to name just a few. At times, a seal would casually be basking in the sun on the edge of the lagoon.
We enjoy the outdoors, walking, kayaking, swimming, and gardening.
Hygiene is of utmost importance to us and the self-catering unit is deep cleaned after every departure.
We are passionate about the environment, sustainability, conservation and offer a helping hand with fostering when the need arises to our local rescue organizations.
Our four-legged friends are all rescues, with loving & friendly natures.
Welcome to the best village in South Africa 🇿🇦
We look forward to welcoming you.
We like to boast about our only traffic light in our town, the locals drive as fast as our resident 🐢 tortoises! 😂
Our neighborhood is quiet, tranquil, and friendly.
Please remember we share Sedgefield Islands with tortoises - always be on the lookout for them, they love crossing the roads - our speed limit is 30-40km and strictly enforced by surveillance camera's.
When walking around the Islands, the local's will always greet others.
Sedgefield Island is a Conservancy Heritage Site that we, the residents, take great pride in.
As a family, we are actively involved with the conservation of the islands, surrounding lagoon/estuary, and nearby beaches.
Did you know that the Knysna seahorses breed in our estuary/lagoon?
Welcome to the BEST slow town in South 🇿🇦 Africa!
