Tucked away in a private panhandle, Sebakwe offers restful, comfortable and luxurious accommodation to Dullstroom visitors looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The beautiful garden provides necessary “soul food” for those that enjoy just relaxing and in the evening, a fire pit next to the braai creates just the right atmosphere.
Although Dullstroom is known for its cool to cold weather, hot blankets and a gas heater ensure that our guests are always warm. There are also extra duvets in the room “just in case”. Teas, coffee and hot chocolate are provided together with delicious locally baked rusks.
To help keep in touch with the rest of the world, there is DSTV and free WiFi available in the room plus Sebakwe is within easy walking distance from the village centre with it’s numerous restaurants and interesting shops. Visitors will find much to do at a leisurely pace and your hosts are always available to advise on any specific activities that are planned during your visit. For those with an artistic bent, there are art classes available on Saturday mornings for a small fee.
Your hosts, Isobel and Malcolm Siebert, seeking a quieter life style retired to Dullstroom in 2017 and are active within the local community.
They look forward to welcoming you to Sebakwe and making sure that your stay is everything you expected and more.
Apart from the 23 restaurants in the village and surrounding areas, Dullstroom boasts an Ernie Else golf course at Highlands gate, the Birds of Prey centre which is a must to visit and an interesting museum which shows the history of the village and the roles played here during the Boer War.
There is whisky, gin and beer tasting plus some of the best coffee ever and don’t forget the cheese tasting especially with a little wine to go with it.
Dullstroom is of course the trout fishing capital of South Africa and there are many waters available on request with fine catches being recorded on a regular basis.
