Mariaan and Charl Wessels enjoy welcoming guests to Clarens and helping them get the most out of the Clarens experience. Charl is able to assist with planning excursions and hikes in the area as well as in the Golden Gate National Park.

Free use of eBikes and mountain bikes for guests, subject to availability. Our guesthouse is situated in a beautiful, wooded garden filled with birdlife . Our guests come to enjoy the peace and quiet away from the city. The rooms are tastefully decorated and comfortable and we hope you will feel at home when you visit us. Many walking trails start just outside our gate and we are within walking distance of all the restaurants, coffee shops and art galleries.

The Gate Guesthouse is situated on the edge of the Clarens Village Conservancy, a nature reserve with various walking and hiking trails. We are a short walk to the village square with numerous restaurants and shops. The shops include "The Emporium", a new shop where colour and creativity is celebrated. Guests are entitled to a 5% discount on all items from "The Emporium".
