The Mission's House is one of the oldest buildings in Onrus River, only 7 kms drive from world famous whale watching destination HERMANUS. Within easy walking distance of the local beach, it is the perfect place to experience that old school holiday feeling of kicking off your shoes and relaxing to the sound of the waves and smell of the sea. Lovingly restored to incorporate modern living without losing the sense of authenticity - feel the history around you in the simplest details. The Mission's House shares a communal courtyard with our second listing, The Treehouse Suite, which is set at the back of the property and has a separate entrance.

Glenda and Braelea, mother and daughter team. We've lived locally for over 45 years so are more than able to advise guests on where to go and what to see in the area. We are from the art and wine world and consider ourselves very passionate folk who enjoy meeting new people and sharing our surroundings as well as our knowledge of this special place. Making your stay relaxed and most enjoyable is what we aim to do. We do not live on site but are very nearby to assist when required. When we are not on site in person we are available at any time when needed via telephone or whats app. We personally check in guests and walk them through the house on arrival. We enjoy meeting like minded guests who enjoy quiet, peaceful places seeped in history and character.

Onrus River is a family friendly residential area that has a wonderful feeling of South African living at it's best. Early morning joggers, cyclists, walkers and children on bikes are a familiar sight. We are in easy walking distance of the seaside coastal paths, beach and tidal pool. We may not have a sea view because of the milkwood trees between us and the sea but you certainly and hear and smell the salty waves.
