The host is a passionate and welcoming individual who fell in love with the picturesque town of Clarens many years ago. Their initial encounter with the town occurred during a cycling event, where they were captivated by the natural beauty and charm of Clarens. This experience inspired a deep connection to the area, ultimately leading them to invest in the town. The house is owned by Paula and Jolandi, both of whom are professionals based in Johannesburg. Their shared love for traveling and discovering beautiful places has been a significant source of inspiration for them. This passion has driven them to create a welcoming and enchanting space in Clarens, allowing guests to return and experience the same joy and comfort they have found in their own travels. Each year, Jolandi and Paula embark on making further enhancements and improvements to the house, ensuring that it continues to evolve and exceed the expectations of their guests. Another source of attraction for the hosts is their active participation in the various cycling and running events that take place throughout the year in Clarens. Their personal involvement in these events not only reflects their passion for an active lifestyle but also allows them to intimately understand the needs and preferences of guests who visit the area for similar activities.

The Red Door is located approximately 800 metres from the popular Clarens Square and is nestled below the southern side of the Clarens Village Nature Reserve. The beautifully decorated 3-bedroom self-catering house has gained popularity over the years due to its classy eclectic style that seamlessly fits in with the artistic ambiance of Clarens. As you step into the house, you are greeted by a spacious living area adorned with stylish furniture with a large patio providing breathtaking views of Mount Horeb offering a constant connection to the stunning landscape outside. The house features a fully equipped kitchen with a gas hob, making it ideal for use during load shedding or power outages. Guests are provided with a variety of coffee options, including coffee pods, filter coffee, and instant coffee, ensuring that they can enjoy their preferred brew during their stay. Additionally, a selection of teas, sugar and biscuits are available to accompany their hot beverages. The house offers a luxurious and comfortable retreat, with two of the bedrooms featuring queen-size beds and the main bedroom boasting a super king-size bed. The accommodation is adorned with deliciously soft cotton linen, ensuring a restful and indulgent night’s sleep for guests. Each of the three bedrooms in the house is accompanied by its own bathroom, offering guests convenience and privacy during their stay. The patio is the most popular place due to its stunning views, offering guests a picturesque setting to relax and unwind. For outdoor dining and entertainment, the patio is equipped with both a coal braai and a gas braai, providing guests with the option to enjoy delicious meals while taking in the breathtaking surroundings. The house is equipped with DSTV, high-speed internet, inverter and backup water facilities ensuring an uninterrupted experience. Daily cleaning services are not provided but can be arranged prior to arrival.
