My Father Purchased Waterryk Farm in 1977. It had wooden exterior walls and asbestos sheeting interior walls. There was no electricity and a party line telephone. It had 5 bedrooms, and one bathroom, and a donkey to heat water. After a couple of years, we had electricity installed. Every holiday we used to go the farm, which remained glorified camping. After Years of planning and debate in 2006 we built the main house as it is today. One Thing we were not going to be short of again, was bathrooms so every bedroom has an en suite bathroom. The units were designed by the members in our family given a space to make unique. As our family under utilised the property and many requests from outside, we decided to share it. From our "camping" days we have really created something luxurious and special.
My Husband and I met in Cape Town where we got married in 1998. When we met he was a runner and soon got me into running. We ran many races up to half marathons, a couple of marathons and a two oceans. He also competed in 16 Argus Cycle Tour Races. My father encouraged him to take up golf and a couple of years later i joined in. After ill health and treatments we moved from Cape Town, and are now resident in the wonderful town of Stilbaai where we enjoy our golf and the odd jog around the town.
