Liked: STAFF: Continuously helpful, recomended a restaurant on our arrival (called'Foreign Muck') and was one of the best on our whole holiday. LOCATION: Amazing, on approach, from East, you see Brunel's last masterpiece a stunning bridge, and you stay in a pub just walking distance from it called the Brunel Inn, perfect :).

Highly recommend this very special place. The view from the room is insane. It feels like you're in the water, not simply watching it. The staff was super sweet and friendly. The atmosphere is very unique. Food was excellent. No extra charge for my dog.

Simply marvellous stay. My opinion below Ode to Weary I came upon the Weary Friar As day turned into night Not a friar but weary me The working life my plight The lady at the desk did say You made it safe and sound A dirty day we've had of it A lot of rain around Now here's the key and up you go Rest yourself a while Food is served from 5 o'clock Now that did make me smile The walls of this enchanted place Have stood 800 year But strong and sturdy they are still So clients have no fear My room was super comfy With everything on hand Fluffy towels and toiletries This place is truly grand Descending to the bar room I Had the chance to meet this guy In quiet meditative way Turns to me and he did say Welcome you to Pillaton Glad to meet you here my son Geoff's the name, what you should do Is try the local special brew So we chatted for a while Then dine I did and dined in style And when I'd had my fill and more Up again to bedrooms door I slumbered under duck and down Without a single noise around Awoke to smell of morning fry Could not resist and didn't try After breakfast fit for King Reluctantly my hook to sling I bid goodbye to bestest folk Fetched my bag and grabbed my cloak I turned at top of yonder hill Departing such a bitter pill Made a promise, there and then The Friar would see this guest again E.P Kearney Epkearney.com

The Ferry House Inn is a quaint local pub, tucked by the waterfront near the Tamar Bridge. The views over the river and of the Brunnel rail bridge were lovely, especially lit up at night. The room was very well appointed, modern and clean. Having the pub downstairs for food and drinks was a bonus. They served the best chocolate cheesecake that I have tasted! The pub is not noisey, so it could not be heard from my room.

Stayed here rather than a city centre hotel in Plymouth and glad we made the change. Fabulous views, decent amount of space to stretch the legs after a long drive and a great atmosphere. Food was excellent at both dinner and breakfast so we were happy with that.
