The little Bernese Oberland village of Habkern lies in in a wind-protected and fog-free valley, off the beaten tourist track. Everything! The proprietors, our room, the food, Gary the hostess (fantastic!!), the church bells and the views of the Alps were all incredible! The bakery, grocery store across the street was fabulous when opened. It was not opened everyday. This was a true swiss Alps village away from the city and on a vast beautiful mountain range with cows, and horses and beautiful chalets and the people! It was about 20 minutes down a windy road into Interlarken. Perfect location. We had a car but used the bus pass that the hotel gave us which was extremely helpful. We give this place a 15 out of 10 stars. It was just perfect in every way for a small village. Highly recommended

The room was not only spacious and incredibly comfortable, but it also offered a breathtaking view. What truly set this experience apart, however, was the exceptional customer service. After accidentally leaving our camera behind, we faced the unfortunate reality that returning to retrieve it wasn’t an option. Yet, the staff and manager at Hotel Steinbock went above and beyond to ensure it was safely returned to us. Their kindness, honesty, and dedication were absolutely remarkable—and deeply appreciated. In a world where such genuine helpfulness is rare, their actions left a lasting impression on me. Whenever I return to Lauterbrunnen, there’s no question—I’ll be staying at Hotel Steinbock again and again.

The Alpenblick hotel is a family business, situated about 600 metres from the centre of Grindelwald, right at the ski slope and a bus stop, and offers nice rooms and tasty food.

In the restaurant and on the sunny terrace guests can select from fresh hot sandwiches, steaks, salads and desserts. Cheese fondue is available as well. The room is clean and the bed is very comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful. Everything is great."

The staff are exceptionally friendly and have a service-oriented attitude that exceeds the usual Swiss standard. The breakfast is excellent, offering a variety of delicious and healthy options. Parking is convenient. Overall, I was very impressed and would love to return again.

All guest room at the Schönegg guest house feature typical Alpine-style furniture. Great atmosphere. Wonderful view just from our bed and room. Very friendly staff and services are great. Good breakfast.

It was like I was back in my childhood and found myself at my grandmother's in the village :) The shared bathroom and toilet were clean, there were plenty of towels and all the necessary personal hygiene products. Good breakfast and gorgeous views from the window.
