Just 200 metres away are The Custard Factory’s trendy independent shops, bars, restaurants and galleries. It was a good price for the location, about 15 minute walk to the centre. The man who checked me in was wonderful, carried my bag up the stairs, explained everything well and was friendly. It was pretty cool staying in a place older than my own country.

The breakfast fantastic, you can choose from a lot of options. The rooms are comfy especially the beds, pillows. Plenty of parking spots and now the e-cars can be charged as well. The staff is great. An advice: the restaurant is great but you have to reserve table for yourself in weeks before your visit.

The pub is within a short distance of many city landmarks, 5 minutes’ drive from the centre and 20 minutes from the NEC concert and exhibition centre. Staff were really nice and helpful and room was nice and comfortable. I would say it’s much more than an 8 mins walk to the city centre though which is what booking.com state. Also the property is located within the clean air zone which we were unaware of and this cost us an extra £28 for an overnight stay, obviously not the pub’s fault though and overall we enjoyed our stay.
