Great accomodation very close to the see and the railway station. I stayed in Kalutara an visited Richmond Castle and the Bodhyia (temple) - both very interesting places and worth to visit. The hosts are very friendly and helpful and there is a little beach close to the accomodation for a short swim. Everything was great!

What a wonderful hotel this is! We stayed in room 601. The food was amazing with plenty of choices to suit everyone’s taste. The management and staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and always willing to help, which made our stay feel extra special. Very warm welcome. We were offered tea or fresh coffee immediately and Ganga (our hostess) asked if we were hungry (we were starving!) and prepared us a delicious home cooked meal. The villa is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by lush gardens and has a lovely pool. Rooms are immaculate and comfortable. Fresh coffee (delicious) and tea is always on hand and breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Ganga and Upal are amazing hosts. Ganga did our laundry, fed us and Upal took my husband on a day tour of the local sites and temples (I stayed at the villa and had the most lovely lazy day) The shops and high street are a 5 minute walk away and everyone is so friendly and welcoming. We had the most lovely time there and were rested and refreshed. Upal offers an airport shuttle too for a very reasonable price. We’ve decided to change our travel plans and go back there because we loved it so much. I highly recommend this place, in fact I’d say this has been the most hospitable and welcoming place we’ve ever stayed. The price is very reasonable, the time spent there is just bliss and the company of Ganga and Upal is just the icing on the cake.

Great family run business. Lovely atmosphere by the river, excellent food (you can get lunch and dinner and order from a menu). Staff takes you to the other side of the river to a beautiful beach anytime you want. The rooms have a stunning river view, are clean and shower with good pressure and hot water. You can book tours and water sport equipment. We felt very welcome and would definitely go there again.

Wow. Waking up to be surrounded by serenity of the lake early morning. Service and food were exceptional on the houseboat. The rooms were luxurious.
