Offering a spa centre and hot spring bath, Castilla Termal Monasterio de Valbuena is set in Valbuena de Duero. Breakfast was absolutely amazing. Staff was great. Spa was perfect and monastery is gorgeous. The room was confortable with a bathtube and a large shower. It is was absolutely quiet at night and very dark so we could sleep in. The sidewalk by the river and the vineyard is smooth and nice. The bistro "gastrobar" is the best option

We booked this hotel for celebrating our 5th anniversary and our aim was to spend a relaxing weekend. During the check-in, they immediately booked us massages and the termal pool and we felt very welcomed, relaxed and comfortable during the stay.

The staff were exceptionally friendly—special thanks to Juan Carlos and Álvaro for the way they received us, the staff at the Vinoteca, for their great recommendations and food. In general, everyone made us feel very welcome since day one. Our dog was very well accepted, and he was able to dine with us on the terrace of the Vinoteca The wines were excellent, and the wine tour with Francisco was insightful and engaging. Definitely a must-do. As we were celebrating our honeymoon, the team went above and beyond by upgrading us to the Master Suite, a gesture that truly made our stay memorable. The suite was incredible, and their attention to detail made us feel so special. The pool was relaxing, and all the amenities were spotless. In summary, this is truly a top-tier hotel that will stay in our hearts forever. Abadía Retuerta delivered not just a stay but an experience we will always cherish.

Cristina swept us up in her exuberant hospitality the moment we walked into this old castle, and she was always there to make sure we were comfortable, happy, well-fed, and paying attention to the special features of the building: the original floors and stairs, and the paintings by the general who bought the castle originally. This inn appears to be THE place for big weddings and other celebrations in the area, and there are large rooms on the first floor to accomodate hundreds of guests, but the dining room for hotel guests is intimate and elegant. And there is a small bar by the entrance where you can have drinks and tapas. The feeling of hospitality extends to every one of the staff we met, and especially to the owner, Enrique, who personally mapped out a day trip for us to visit castles, monasteries, churches, and interesting walled towns nearby.

It's a clean and very well-maintained house, ideal for unwinding. Silvia was very attentive. We combined this with an experience at the same family's restaurant and winery in Melida, 3 km away, and the food and wine were well worth the trip. Although there aren't many dining options in the town itself, Peñafiel is about a 10-minute drive away and has supermarkets, restaurants, and more. The jacuzzi is a plus. We'll definitely be back.

Great quiet location in a tiny village useful for trips to bodegas in Ribera del Duero. All amenities worked eg shower, jacuzzi bath, cooker ( gets very hot quickly). Easy to find with good instructions. Excellent tasting menu at nearby Melida.
