Cozy and beautifully kept ryokan with a gorgeous outside bath available for private use. This is an especially nice place for a couple. The staff are kind and helpful and they speak English.

Very spacious and beautifully presented rooms in traditional Ryokan in the middle of Shibu Onsen. Comfortable Tatami beds. Great to have private toilet. The onsite outdoor private Onsen and inside (male/female) onsens were fantastic. Loved the supplied Yukata and Geta for the Onsens. Key supplied for all public onsens through town. The owners were so helpful and kind, driving us to and from snow monkeys and to Yudanaka station for our train. Enjoyed the traditional home made breakfast delivered to our room at reasonable price in beautiful bento box.

Aburaya Tousen offers luxurious contemporary Japanese-style accommodation with an amazing 11 types of hot-spring baths and free WiFi. De totaalbeleving is de prijs zeker waard. Bijzonder vriendelijk personeel. Fijne Onsen. Fantastisch avondeten en zeer uitgebreid ontbijt. Locatie is dicht bij Snow Monkey park. Wij hadden een net gerenoveerde kamer met 2 enorme bedden.

志賀高原 白い温泉 渓谷の湯 bevindt zich in Yamanouchi, op 14 km van Jigokudani Monkey Park, en biedt een gedeelde lounge, rookvrije kamers, gratis WiFi in de hele accommodatie en skiën tot aan de deur. Absolutely a gem!!! Food was one of the best in the entire trip to Japan. Some staff spoke English and went out of their way to make the experience memorable. The onsen is natural hot springs with nice sulfur smell. Loved every second of this place. Would happily return.

Amazing property with even more amazing staff. We stayed for two night during our honeymoon and couldn’t be happier with the experience. It was an authentic yet luxurious Ryokan. Our room was beautifully decorated, spotless and it even had its own onsen. The food was exceptional and the staff was very well trained and extremely friendly. Highly recommended this hotel and would love to go back on day.

Private onsen was a luxurious experience for us in the property itself.

Incredible service and incredible overall experience. It's like staying in a fancy cabin in the snow. The lounge area with the giant fireplace is awesome, very nice food, very spacious rooms and first class facilities such as the onsens and indoor swimming pool. The decor could be interpreted as dated (as other reviews have stated) but we felt this simply adds to the warmth and cosiness of the establishment. The service here is seriously next level and it is fantastic value for money.

Villa Alpen heeft skiën tot aan de deur, en ligt in Yamanouchi in de regio Nagano, op 13 km van Jigokudani Monkey Park en 22 km van skigebied Ryuoo Ski Park. I really enjoyed staying at Villa Alpen! This ski in ski out hotel is quiet old but the atmosphere there is so peaceful. Onsen works 24 hours! It is a great bonus. The continental breakfast and Japanese style dinner served. All good! The staff is very friendly. The ski resort is consisted of multiple small resorts and they all interconnected. The owners accommodated all my needs and were very helpful and kind! I will be back for sure!
