It was a welcome rest as we arrived by bike. The front entrance is vintage and unassuming…but behind the long hedge is a huge beer garden which serves very tasty and reasonably priced food. We didn’t go in to the restaurant as the beer and garden food sufficed. The room was comfortable and looked in to the courtyard. The staff were all very friendly and were able to accommodate our bicycles. We really enjoyed our stay and recommend people go in the front door and check it out.

You feel welcomed the moment you enter the gate. They have created such cozy spaces for guests and the provide great amenities like coffee and tea, toast and other small breakfast items. I appreciated the small fridge in the room, pressure in the shower and how quiet it was at night. I also walked to town and it was easy and fun. There’s a lot to do in this part of the world! The location on the lake/pond is divine and serene with ducks and a swan family. it is a beautiful tranquil spot and a great cabin with full kitchen and brand new bathroom. Comfy bed looking out to the view and a balcony to sip a glass or two or have a meal.

We absolutely loved everything about our stay at this unique cabin. Such a brilliant location with the most special view (even when we had a bit of rain on our final morning) and incredible surroundings. Photos really cannot do this place justice - it’s just beautiful and the little patio area is perfect for enjoying some outside time in this part of the world. This cabin offers a really unique and cosy stay, and we would definitely recommend. Having spent five weeks travelling around NZ and staying in many different types of accommodation, this was the standout! We could not have asked for better or more friendly hosts either - thank you so much David and Sandy, especially for all your tips while in the area!

What a great place to stay! All very new and well equipped. The best kitchen I’ve seen on my trip. I stayed in one of the cabins with lake view, but I got really into the camping vibe because of this place. Just be aware you have to go outside to go to the bathroom/wash your hands - no sink in the cabin. Not a problem for me though.
