One of the Armenian capital’s most prominent landmarks, this large oval-shaped plaza is surrounded by several grand neoclassical buildings, including the History Museum and National Art Gallery. The square was designed by Alexander Tamanian in 1924, and is frequently used for public events and celebrations.
