Mucuripe Beach is the place to see ‘jangadas’. Popularized in Fortaleza hundreds of years ago, these graceful sailing rafts are still used by local fishermen to bring in their daily catch. In the early mornings, you can watch the pretty boats returning from the sea with their booty, which will be sold at the old-style fish market. For a delicious feast, buy some fresh shrimp and have it fried up at a local bar.
