The rocky lookout point of Balcón de Europa was built to help the people of Nerja identify threats sailing in across the water – and it’s still the best way to check out the area’s scenic sandy coves today. The promenade here is popular in summertime, with bars, restaurants and ice cream parlours aplenty. It’s also a regular spot for fiestas, concerts and New Year’s celebrations.
