I spent my first night in Athens and my first time in Greece at the Acropolis Vision and this hotel set the standard for what was to come. The staff at the hotel exceeded my expectations with their friendly, courteous and warm hospitality. They made us feel so very welcome and happy to have in Greece. The room and bathroom were very clean, bed and linen so comfortable and overall atmosphere welcoming. The Rooftop has a beautiful view of the Acropolis and a short walking distance to the base of the Acropolis as well as restaurants. Monastiraki square was a few minutes walk from the hotel. I was too tired to notice any noise so slept very well.

Acropolis

Long before it became known as Bloomfield Falls, this magnificent waterfall was called Wujal Wujal by the indigenous Kuku Yalanji people. Hire a guide and learn why these people still consider Wujal Wujal to be sacred. Or just head down with your 4x4 and a picnic hamper, and have lunch in serious style!

A must to visit, it is climbable, I am 75 and with help from my daughter I made it to just before the top, I'm afraid of heights so didn't make the top with the crowds. Best time to go is 8am, our time was changed to 10am, due to a strike. If you are unable to climb the steps there is a cart that takes you to a lift which takes you to the top.

Go very early in the day, or very late, to avoid the huge crowds. Buy your timed tickets in advance, and they are separate from the museum. The museum is great, but there are several better collections in the center of Athens.

Nice to see but 30 euro is really too much for seing a few stones. Not much left of this area, like most temples of ancient Greece. We were a bit dissapointed. Greeks build an immage on the old history. A lot more labour of reconstruction could be done by escavating areas and putting the pieces together to look more like the original. Visitors should at least be permitted to walk inside the area of the temple.

Athens is a wonderful city to visit & explore… however, beware of Rogue Taxi 🚖 drivers! If they don’t display their photo/licence walk away! Even if they put on the “meter” it’s best to ask for a price and not accept an astronomical cost on arrival !🥺 The fare from Airport to Athens is around 50€ NOT 120€ which we were charged by 1 bandit in August! We found a very honest & friendly Taxi driver who spoke English - works for a company called “Athens My Transfer” check it on-line.

Absolutely fantastic location - we explored all parts of Athens and the location could not be better. Hotel is quirky and the terrace with view over Acropolis is stunning. Our room had a beautiful balcony looking over the main cathedral. There was sufficient space, plenty of hangers in the wardrobe and a fridge. Room was spotless.

The location is great—very close to the Acropolis, the Agora, and other significant historical sites in Athens, so we walked everywhere. We really enjoyed the beautiful view from the rooftop of the apartment. There is also a nice café on the ground floor, and plenty of great restaurants within walking distance. The apartment itself was very clean, with comfy beds and everything we needed. Check-in was very easy, the staff were helpful, and it’s really convenient that you can leave your luggage in the luggage room.

The location is excellent, the apartment was well maintained, fresh, and had all the basic amenities. Lovely view on Acropolis from the balcony. Comfortable bed. Easy check in. Mini fridge. It is a loud neighbourhood but very lovely and that's why one would stay in the city centre - to be close to the fun, so I won't complain about it. Great for a weekend in Athens!

The hotel was truly amazing - such good value 5 star hotel, easy to get into the central part of the city (just a short walk away - just pick your routes wisely), the staff were so welcoming and helpful, and the breakfast buffet on the rooftop every morning with a view of the acropolis was a real highlight (sit outside if you can!). The cleaners did such a great job each day of tidying and cleaning our room. We had the best trip to Athens and would definitely come back to the hotel again!

Perfect location with easy access around Athens by tram and bus. The apartment was clean and well-appointed. It had everything needed for a short stay. We really enjoyed having the beach across the road and the restaurants at the end of the marina. I loved the neighbourhood with its tree lined streets, shops, and friendly locals. And of course, the jacuzzi on the terrace - very welcomed after a walk to the acropolis.

Go beyond the Acropolis and explore the Agora and Kerameikos, imagining yourself entering Athens along the road from the port of Piraeus, and following the Panathenaic Way to the Akropolis. Stop at the museums along the way to understand the significance of each site. Then visit the National Archaeological Museum to see that classical Athens is just one of Greece's many magnificent cultures.

If you want to avoid crowds while seeing the famous sights, start out early and be at the sights when they open. I arrived at the Acropolis around 8:10 AM and there were only around 20 people on the whole compound. It was wonderful! There was a crowd climbing the hill when I descended, though!

Consider visiting Athens in May or September.

Consider visiting Athens in May or September. May is just lovely. Spring flowers like poppies and daisies cover the hills. It's not too busy and not too hot. Remember that on holidays you are always moving so consider the weather when you make your plans. Also, research opening hours as the Acropolis is closed May 1; and other Ancient Landmarks are closed on certain days and on certain hours any other day.
