At first glance Kawah Putih could almost be a tropical beach, but in fact it sits high on the forested slopes of Mount Patuha. The volcano has been dormant for centuries but this stunning crater lake still bubbles with sulphur, while swirling steam shrouds its pearly, pale-green waters.
