Truly ancient, this 2,500-year-old settlement is one of the oldest to be found along the Adriatic Sea and one where many civilisations – the Ottomans and Illyrians to name a few – have left their mark. Medieval streets wind around stone buildings and a castle, all peppered with the tell-tale markings of Baroque and Renaissance design.
